Nutribullet Review

Hello, health fanatics (or wannabe health fanatics)! Today we are going to talk about the superfood nutrition extractor, the Nutribullet. Stay tuned for the advantages and disadvantages of this product and hopefully by the end of this overview you will know whether or not the Nutribullet is for you.

What is the Nutribullet?

The Nutribullet is not a juicer or blender, it is an extractor. While juicers can remove the fiber from fruits and veggies and blenders can leave large chunks behind, an extractor fully breaks down the fruits and veggies, still keeping all the nutrients.

A nutrient rich, healthy diet can help you ward off disease, look younger, lose weight, and extend your life. An extractor, like the Nutribullet, can make the consuming of these nutrients much easier than eating your 4 to 5 servings of fruits and veggies daily.

What is so great about it?

Number 1: It makes things really easy. Eating healthy is great for you and believe it or not, can be delicious. Who over the age of 10 doesn’t like fresh fruits or veggies? Hopefully no one! By using a product that allows you to consume multiple servings of both without losing the nutrients, healthy eating will be easier and more enjoyable.

Number 2: There are a wide variety of recipes available to you. has six delicious recipes, including the cholesterol crusher blast and the fountain of youth. But the majority of your recipes will come in the free Natural Healing Foods Book you receive with your Nutribullet.

Number 3: It’s easier to clean than a traditional blender or juicer. While really easy to clean by hand, it is also dishwasher safe. Anyone who has ever tried to clean a juicer knows that cleaning ease is a HUGE perk.

Number 4: It’s cheaper than a high quality blender or juicer. If anyone has ever price checked blenders and juicers, they know that it is not cheap to get your fruits and veggies in a glass. While not a cheap product, the Nutribullet is cheaper than most quality blenders and juicers. I’ll discuss the price is just a bit.

Number 5: It’s smaller and more portable. Blenders and juicers can be large and bulky. The Nutribullet is very compact and much lighter. This is great for anyone with a lack of kitchen space or a moderate to heavy travel schedule.

Why isn’t it great?

Number 1: It doesn’t do everything a traditional blender can do. The Nutribullet can’t blend thick things, like a nut butter, while a blender generally can. In other words, the Nutribullet wouldn’t be your first choice unless you are only aiming to make thinner things, like smoothies or dressings.

Number 2: Your smoothie can be thin. Nutribullet lists the “chunks” that traditional blenders leave behind as a con. While I personally don’t like chunks, I do prefer the thicker consistency that a blender leaves as opposed to an extractor.
The product of the Nutribullet is a juice/smoothie hybrid which is too thin for my liking. If you like a thinner consistency, this may be a pro for you instead of a con. To each their own.

Number 3: Nutribullet doesn’t have fabulous customer service. Those customers who have had a negative experience with the Nutribullet often reported that something went wrong and then customer service didn’t work to solve the problem quickly. Ain’t nobody got time to fight with customer service!

How much is it?

The Nutribullet costs $119.94 with free shipping. You can also make six easy payments of $19.99 with free shipping. What does that even mean — easy payments? How would a payment be easy or difficult? That’s just unnecessary wordage, but oh well.

For that $119.94, you will receive an extractor blade, a milling blade, a power base, a tall cup, a short cup with a handled comfort lip ring, a handled short cup with a comfort lip ring, two resealable lids, a user guide and recipe book, and a pocket nutritionist.

Now that you know what the Nutribullet is all about, I hope that you can decide for yourself whether or not it is the best extracting system for you. Please let us know in the comments if you have ever used the Nutribullet or any other extractor and what you thought of it. Have a great day!

Vitamix Review

Hello, smoothie drinkers! Today we are going to talk about the blender brand, Vitamix. Stay tuned for the advantages and disadvantages of this product and hopefully by the end of this overview you will know whether or not Vitamix is for you.

What is Vitamix?

Vitamix is a popular high performance blender company offering products for all your blending needs. The blenders are very high quality and appropriate for both personal and business purposes, offering four series — the Classic, the Professional, the TurboBlend, and the Creations.

The founder of the company, William Grover Barnard, was introduced to the blender in 1937 during his work as a pioneer in the health food industry. In 1949, he did a live demonstration of the blender on television, which went down in history as the first infomercial in the United States.

Since then, the company has taken off with amazing products that make everything from smoothies to ice cream to bread dough.

What is so great about it?

Number 1: It makes everything! Vitamix blenders are incredibly versatile and will help you make just about anything you could want, including smoothies, fondues, dips, dressings, sauces, and soups.

All of the recipes for this awesome food can be found at It can be organized by seasonality, meal type, level of difficulty, dietary interest, or total prep time. It doesn’t get any easier than that, you don’t even have to track down recipes!

Number 2: Vitamix blenders are top, top, top of the line. If you are looking for the best of the best (and the prices to match), Vitamix is the way to go. They are professional grade blenders that are still appropriate for home use.

Number 3: The warranties are no joke. Depending on the model you go for, the Vitamix warranties range from 5 to 7 years. A long warranty generally signifies a high quality product. It means that the company stands behind its products so much that it is willing to replace them if they die an untimely death.

Number 4: It is great for control freaks. With a Vitamix, you have complete control over all settings. While the Professional series 750 has 5 pre-programmed settings, all the blenders have easy to use manual settings that you can set to your exact specifications.

Why isn’t it great?

Number 1: It’s loud. Blenders can break ice into little tiny pieces. As such, you have to expect they will be loud. A Vitamix has a tendency to be louder than some cheaper brands. However, this is because it blends, chops, and processes better than other brands do. So this is a pro and con.

Number 2: A Vitamix is a high quality blender, as I mentioned before. To match it, there is a high price tag that I will discuss in a little bit. You get what you pay for, so this can be a pretty expensive piece for home use.

Number 3: Vitamix jars are not dishwasher safe. If you are a hardcore dishwasher user, understand that you can’t just throw these jars in the dishwashers. You will have to wash them by hand. It will take you approximately 10 seconds. Oh the horror!

How much is it?

As mentioned before, the Vitamix has four series — Classic, Professional, TurboBlend, and Creations — each which come in multiple models.

The Classic Series is best for home use to make healthy family meals. It comes in five models — Standard, Standard with compact container, Super, Deluxe, and the 6300, which range in price from $449 – $649.

The Professional Series is best for business use to make restaurant quality dishes. Or you could always make restaurant quality dishes at home! It comes in seven models — the CIA, the 200, the 200 with compact container, the 500, the 300, the 750, and the CIA with compact container, which range in price from $479 – $689.

The TurboBlend Series is best for home use to make raw, vegan, or vegetarian meals. It comes in two models — the two speed and the VS, which cost $399 and $449, respectively.

The Creations Series is best for home use and is the series you will see on the OTHER home shopping network, QVC. It comes in five models — the Elite, the II (2), the GC, the GC with compact container, and the CIA, which range in price from $449 – $557.50.

Now that you know what Vitamix is all about, I hope that you can decide for yourself whether or not it is the best blending system for you. Please let us know in the comments if you have ever used a Vitamix or any other blender and what you thought of it. Have a great day!

LifeLock Review

Hello, viewers! Today we are going to talk about the identity theft protection company, LifeLock. Stay tuned for the advantages and disadvantages of this service and hopefully by the end of this overview you will know whether or not LifeLock is for you.

What is LifeLock?

LifeLock provides credit monitoring and personal information protection to prevent you from being the victim of identity theft or fraud. Besides monitoring your credit, it also scans criminal websites for illegal selling of your personal information, alerts you to any possible identity theft, and tracks your credit score.

In 2010, more than 8 million Americans were victims of identity theft. In today’s virtual world, it’s more important than ever to protect your identity from hackers who could steal your information and wreck your credit. That’s where LifeLock comes in…

What is so great about it?

Number 1: It lowers your chances of having your identity stolen. With constant monitoring, LifeLock can recognize when someone else is attempting to use your personal information. It will then notify you via email or phone so you can deal with the issue before it becomes a debacle.

Number 2: It will help you replace the contents of your wallet if it is lost or stolen. There are few things in life worse than losing your wallet then frantically trying to cancel all your cards and get a new license. LifeLock will help you cancel and/or replace the contents and stop fraudulent charges.

Lifelock covers your credit and debit cards, driver’s license, Social Security card — although this should NOT be in your wallet to begin with, insurance cards, and checkbooks. Obviously, it can’t replace cash for you.

Number 3: It watches the “black market”. LifeLock watches over 10,000 criminal websites to make sure your personal data isn’t being sold or traded . That black market is a shady place! Private data, harvested organs…I think I’ll do my shopping elsewhere.

Number 4: It has a $1 million service guarantee! Should you become a victim of identity theft, even after all of LifeLock’s precautions have been taken, it will spend up to $1 million to hire experts to help your recovery. Yes, $1 million! Silly LifeLock, I’m not worth that much! My identity will be promptly returned once the thief lays eyes on my debt load…

Number 5: It will reduce your credit card offers. You know all that junk mail you receive with pre-approved credit cards? Pro tip: these are not the best credit cards on the market, so don’t accept them! LifeLock will request that your name be removed from many of these mailing lists, leaving you with a less cluttered mailbox and the Earth with a few more trees.

Why isn’t it great?

Number 1: You can do a number of these things for free on your own! LifeLock asks the credit bureaus to set fraud alerts on your behalf. But you can actually do this yourself. Contact one of the three major credit bureaus and request this, it will notify the other two for you.

You can also easily get your name removed from pre-approved credit card lists. Just go to and take your name off the lists for free. Likewise, you can order your own free credit reports, one free report from each of the three bureaus annually.

Number 2: Those black market sites aren’t getting shut down. While LifeLock does notify you if your information comes up on an illegal website, it doesn’t try to get the site shut down. It will give you tips on how to proceed, but LifeLock won’t actually interfere.

Number 3: A credit freeze would be easier. If you aren’t planning on applying for new credit in the near future, you can always just freeze it. Then absolutely no one can apply for new credit under your name. That was easy!

If you have ever filed a police report or a FTC complaint for identity theft, you can freeze and thaw your credit for free, for life. If you haven’t been a victim of identity theft, you will pay a small freeze fee which varies by state.

How much is it?

You have the option between LifeLock and LifeLock Ultimate:
LifeLock is $10 a month or $110 a year. It includes the $1 million guarantee and identity theft protection. LifeLock Ultimate is $25 a month or $275 a year. It includes extra features, such as: 24/7 online access to your monthly TransUnion credit score, daily monitoring of the three credit bureau reports, and checking and savings account application alerts.

Now that you know what LifeLock is all about, I hope that you can decide for yourself whether or not it is the best identity theft protection for you. Please let us know in the comments if you have ever used LifeLock or any other identity theft protection service and what you thought of it. Have a great day!

Lending Club Review

Hello, future borrowers and lenders! Today we are going to talk about the peer-to-peer lending service, Lending Club. Stay tuned for the advantages and disadvantages of this service and hopefully by the end of this overview you will know whether or not Lending Club is for you.

What is Lending Club?

Lending Club is a peer lending service that allows users to either apply for a loan or fund a loan by opening an investment account. Borrowers can apply for up to a $35,000 loan, get funded in just a few days, and make fixed monthly payments over a period of time at a lower rate than the banks are lending at.

Investors, or lenders, will get high returns compared to what they would get in a traditional savings account with relatively creditworthy borrowers. In fact, the average borrower has a FICO score of 703 and makes more than $70,000 a year. In other words, both parties can benefit greatly from using Lending Club for their borrowing or investing needs.

What is so great about it?

Number 1: The rates are high for investors and low for borrowers. Rates range from around 5% to around 24% depending on the borrower’s creditworthiness. These rates are way more than investors will get in a standard savings account, and sometimes even more than investors can make investing in traditional investments, like stocks and bonds.

These rates are also usually better than most borrowers can get from a traditional lender. It’s a win-win for both parties!

Number 2: Risk is limited for lenders. Can borrowers default? Sure. But for the most part, Lending Club works to reduce risk. Applicants must have a FICO score greater than 660. More than two thirds of the loan applications are rejected due to creditworthiness.

On top of that, lenders are able to choose which level of risk they are willing to take. The higher the risk profile of the borrower, the higher the interest rate. High risk, higher reward. Low risk, lower reward.

Number 3: Lenders have the option to diversify. Let’s say you invest $5,000. You have the choice to put all your eggs in one basket or spread the cash around — so you can loan $5,000 to one person or $25 to 200 different people. By diversifying, you won’t lose 100% of your investment if your sole borrower defaults.

Number 4: It is a cool option for an alternative investment. For those who are already investing in stocks, bonds, funds, and maybe even real estate, P2P lending is another investment option to shake up your portfolio. It almost makes investing sexy.

Why isn’t it great?

Number 1: While reduced, the human element adds risk. Any defaults or late payments will be reported to the credit bureaus just like any other defaulted loan, but people choose not to pay loans all the time. Investing does come with risk, prepare for losses along with gains.

Number 2: There are strict requirements for borrowers and lenders. As I said before, a borrower’s credit score has to be greater than 660. Lenders must have an annual gross income of $70,000 or more AND a net worth of at least $70,000, not including their home, OR a net worth of over $250,000 without an income requirement. There are also a list of states that are not able to use Lending Club.

Number 3: Many borrowers could probably find better rates elsewhere if they did some digging. Your local credit union will likely beat the rates of both loans from traditional banks and P2P loans. Borrowers should look into the other available options before using Lending Club to make sure they are getting the best rates.

How much is it?

Investors only need $25 to get started. They can deposit funds using ACH, wire, check, or PayPal and then they can start loaning!

Borrowers will pay as much interest as they owe, there is no money required to apply for a loan.

Now that you know what Lending Club is all about, I hope that you can decide for yourself whether or not it is the best peer-to-peer lending service for you. Please let us know in the comments if you have ever used Lending Club or any other P2P lending website and what you thought of it. Have a great day!

Flex Belt Review

Hello, future ripped viewers! Today we are going to talk about the ab belt toning system, the Flex Belt. Stay tuned for the advantages and disadvantages of this system and hopefully by the end of this overview you will know whether or not the Flex Belt is for you.

What is the Flex Belt?

The Flex Belt is a FDA approved abdominal belt toning system that is said to tone, firm, and strengthen your stomach muscles. The company claims that using the Flex Belt will train your abs by stimulating the nerves that make your muscles contract and relax. This product will give you an effective ab workout in just 30 minutes a day.

The University of Wisconsin performed a six week clinical study on the Flex Belt and the results are impressive! 92.3% of participants felt that the firmness of their ab muscles increased and 100% of participants reported that their abs felt more toned and firm.

What is so great about it?

Number 1: It’s FDA approved and totally safe! First and foremost, whether or not the Flex Belt actually works, it’s nice to know it won’t hurt you. Always a comforting thing to hear about your exercise equipment.

Number 2: It’s easy! Everyone is looking for a simple way to get toned and in shape. Well, it doesn’t get much easier than putting on a belt that does the work for you. While it isn’t super comfortable, it isn’t as uncomfortable as your run of the mill abdominal workout.

Number 3: There is a money back guarantee. If you aren’t satisfied with the product, there is a 60 day money back guarantee. Results should take 4-8 weeks, so you will have plenty of time to return the Flex Belt if you find it doesn’t work for you.

Number 4: Numerous celebrities swear that it works. Obviously, companies shell out big bucks to get celebrities to endorse their products. However, any celebrity that takes these offers hopefully believes in the product enough to sacrifice their reputation if others are not pleased. Flex Belt has an impressive roster of celebrity fans, including Denise Richards, Lisa Rinna, Jerry Rice, and Adrianne Curry.

Why isn’t it great?

Number 1: While users of the Flex Belt have reported that their abs feel stronger, it cannot give you the desirable six pack. Obviously, if you want really chiseled abs, you need to work a lot harder than wearing a belt for 30 minutes for a day.

Number 2: It could cause laziness. While the idea of getting toned without exerting much effort is appealing, you shouldn’t allow it to make you complacent. Proper diet and exercise should be practiced along with the Flex Belt for the best results in muscle toning and overall health.

Number 3: It is expensive. I will discuss the actual prices in a moment, but understand that the Flex Belt is not a cheap program. Besides the price of the belt, you will also have to pay for gel pads that will have to be replaced regularly.

How much is it?

The Flex System Belt is $199.99 and the Flex Belt Gel Pad Set is $14.99. You can also add the Flex Mini Butt & Thigh Toner or the Flex System Arm Toning to your order for $129.99. Each item can be purchased on its own for $199.99. See? It isn’t cheap!

Now that you know what the Flex Belt is all about, I hope that you can decide for yourself whether or not it is the best abdominal belt toning system for you. Please let us know in the comments if you have ever used the Flex Belt or any other ab belt system and what you thought of it. Have a great day!

Hello, future online investors! Today we are going to talk about the online brokerage firm, Betterment. Stay tuned for the advantages and disadvantages of Betterment, and hopefully by the end of this overview you will know whether or not Betterment is right for you.

What is Betterment?

Betterment is an online investing tool that automatically invests your money into stocks and bonds at a certain level of risk. Betterment will ask you to set your financial goals and will automatically balance risk and reward to help you reach these goals. It’s a set it and forget it plan, investments will be automatically rebalanced when necessary.

Betterment allows you to set up either an IRA or a traditional investing account for a variety of different goals. Obviously, a traditional or Roth IRA can be used to save up for retirement, and a taxable investing account can be used to save up for mid to long term goals, such as saving up for a house or a college education.
What is so great about it?

Number 1: You don’t have to be an expert to invest. As Betterment does everything for you, all you have to do is set up a deposit and choose your allocation between stocks and bonds. Professionals will tell you to invest more conservatively as you age. So as time goes on you may want to allocate more and more to bonds. When you are young, over 90% in stocks is totally acceptable.

Not only do you not have to be an expert at investing, you don’t have to hire one! Investment advisors can cost an arm and a leg, but Betterment will do all the work for you. Don’t worry about the stock and bond picks, a team of experts has hand selected them.

Number 2: It helps you reach your goals. After you set your financial goals, Betterment will give you advice in terms of asset allocation, one time deposits, or monthly contributions. With the click of a button, you can take the advice and change the allocation or deposits.

Number 3: It’s really user friendly. As a newbie investor, I completely understand that investing can be confusing. Betterment just lets you set it and forget it using the allocation method you choose. Then it spells out how much you’ve contributed, how much you’ve earned, and whether or not you are on track to reach your financial goals.

Number 4: The fee structure is very low. The fees are very low, even for a typical brokerage firm. Throw in the fact that all the allocations are done for you and it’s a downright steal! There are three management fee levels — Builder, Better, and Best. I will discuss these when I go over price at the end of this overview.

Why isn’t it great?

Number 1: There aren’t a lot of investment options. Similar to a typical company 401(k) plan, the investment options are limited and don’t include individual stocks or mutual funds. Betterment portfolios are made up of ETFs to achieve diversification.

Number 2: Because the options are limited, you likely will not get the growth you could from more aggressive investments. Riskier investments can provide higher returns that the conservative folks at Betterment cannot. You have to decide what’s more important to you, steady growth or possible soaring highs and devastating lows.

How much is it?

As I said previously, the fee structure is very reasonable. The three levels are Builder, Better, and Best.

The Builder level is for those investing $100 per month at a minimum and costs 0.35% of your balance.

The Better level is for those with a minimum balance of $10,000 and costs 0.25% of your balance.

The Best level is for those with a minimum balance of $100,000 and costs 0.15% of your balance.

There is no minimum balance requirement to open an account so you can get started with whatever money you have today!

Now that you know what Betterment is all about, I hope that you can decide for yourself whether or not it is the best online investing tool for you. Please let us know in the comments if you have ever used Betterment or any other online investing tools and what you thought of it. Have a great day!

Nutrisystem Review

Hello, future skinny viewers! Today we are going to talk about the popular dieting program, Nutrisystem. Stay tuned for the advantages and disadvantages of this system. Hopefully, this overview will help you decide if Nutrisystem is right for you.

What is Nutrisystem?

Nutrisystem is a weight loss system that actually provides you with the balanced meals you need to be successful in dropping pounds. These meal plans encompass variety, convenience, hunger control, and nutrition and best of all, they are delivered straight to your door. Weight loss doesn’t get any lazier than this!

The system has multiple programs for men and women, including the traditional plan, the silver plan, the D plan, and the lacto-ovo vegetarian plan. There are also the options of Basic, Core, and Select packages. I’ll explain what all this means in just a little bit, for now, just know that there are multiple options for those with different dietary limitations.

What is so great about it?

Number 1: It’s so easy and convenient! Have you ever noticed that everyone wants to lose weight without exerting any effort? Well, this is about as close to that as you are going to get. There are more than 100 ready-to-go meals that don’t require refrigeration and will be delivered straight to your doorstep.

Number 2: You’ve got options! There are SO many options for different dietary limitations and preferences. To start, men and women have different plans, as each sex has different caloric needs. Besides the traditional plan, there is a vegetarian option, an option for those individuals with diabetes, and an option for dieters over the age of 60.

On top of that, there are three options for the different plans: Basic, Core, and Select.

The Basic is the cheapest plan with preselected meals, free shipping, and free access to online tools.

The Core is the most popular plan with a fully customizable menu and personal advice from counselors and dieticians, as well as all the perks of the basic plan.

The Select is the premium plan with a combination of no-fridge-needed and frozen foods and unlimited access to support from counselors and dietitians, as well as all the perks of the other two plans.

Number 3: It’s pretty hard to screw this up. This plan literally gives you the food you are going to eat. Unless you are cheating, you are going to lose weight because the calorie deficit is built in. On the flip side, this does not build long-term habits, but we’ll get to that in a minute…

Number 4: You aren’t doing this alone. It is nearly impossible to get through a huge life change without support. The Nutrisystem program includes access to a site full of tracking tools and support from counselors, dieticians, and other members. It also supports your life after reaching your goal weight with transition and maintenance plans.

Why isn’t it great?

Number 1: It’s super easy! Wait, wasn’t that listed as a positive? Yes, but that’s also a problem. When serious life changes are too easy, you will likely go back to old ways after accomplishing your goal. So that’s something to think about, will you be able to maintain without the perfectly portioned packaged meals?

Number 2: How tasty can packaged goods be? Okay, so the website says it’s delicious. I’m calling bull crap. There are so many complaints out there about the taste of the food and it’s no wonder why! I mean, how tasty does non-refrigerated packaged diet food sound? *crickets* It doesn’t sound good at all. For ease of use, you are going to trade great taste. You really can’t have both.

Number 3: The portions are very small — and not just compared to America’s super sized meal mentality. Like legitimately small. It may be difficult to go from eating Chipotle burritos as big as your head to a 5 inch diameter diet pizza. Remember that going in.

Number 4: It’s expensive. I’ll go through the actual numbers in a second, but the prices are very high compared to the amount of food you are getting. So unless you truly believe the online support you receive from Nutrisystem is “priceless”, it may not be worth the cost.

How much is it?

For the traditional plans, the Basic plan costs about $9 a day, the Core plan costs about $10 a day, and the Select plan costs about $12 a day. The other three options cost around the same amount, give or take $1 a day. These prices are auto-delivery, they will increase if you don’t use the auto-delivery option.

Now that you know what Nutrisystem is all about, I hope that you can decide for yourself whether or not it is the best weight loss program for you. Please let us know in the comments if you have ever used Nutrisystem or any other diet program and what you thought of it. Have a great day!

JustCloud Review

Hello, viewers! Today we are going to talk about the online backup service, Just Cloud. Stay tuned for the advantages and disadvantages of Just Cloud and hopefully by the end of this overview you will know whether or not Just Cloud is for you.

What is Just Cloud?

Just Cloud is a program that stores your files online, allowing you to access them from anywhere at any time. With 100% automated backups, Just Cloud will keep you from losing your precious documents. Unfortunately, I know from personal experience that losing important documents (like 10 page college term papers) is devastating. With a cloud program, you won’t have to worry about that anymore.
Just Cloud uses a desktop application to backup the computer files you choose and can be accessed from any device by logging in to the online control panel. You just set up your backup schedule and Just Cloud runs in the background while you continue to work. Or, you know, continue to watch hilarious cat videos.

What is so great about it?

Number 1: You can easily sync all your files on all your different devices. It’s 2013, so you probably have a laptop, a tablet, and a smart phone, all with multiple documents you don’t want to lose. Decide which documents you want to backup and Just Cloud will automatically save them.

Number 2: Just Cloud allows you to share your files at any time. Invite your friends, family members, or colleagues to view your documents via Facebook, Twitter, email, or a custom link. You can send pictures of the little ones to Grandma and quarterly projections to your colleague with the same program! Just don’t mix them up, confusion will ensue.

Number 3: It’s secure. While you likely don’t have CIA-sensitive documents on your hard drive, I’m sure you don’t want anyone nosing around in your private business. Thankfully, Just Cloud encrypts your data with a 256 bit secured socket layer encryption. Not sure what that means? Neither do I. But it sounds pretty secure. Also, your file transfers are stored in cloud data centers that are monitored 24/7.

Why isn’t it great?

Number 1: Apparently Just Cloud hasn’t yet gotten the memo that pop-ups are a complete and total turnoff. The site’s irritating pop-ups encourage you to upgrade your service and pay for more features. This makes me feel like I’m not getting a good value on my current package and that is not the message companies should want to convey.

Number 2: While the unlimited plan will allow you to save an unlimited number of files, you will be limited on the size of those files. The limit is 5GB, although the default is set to 2MB. Make sure to change the default to 5GB so all your larger files are backed up.

Number 3: Just Cloud will nickel and dime you. When will companies figure out that an extra charge for every little feature infuriates us more than Miley Cyrus’ VMA performance infuriated the Parents Television Council? Apparently never, as Just Cloud has a lot of extra fees for things like priority support ($9.95/year), hourly backup ($19.95/year), and unlimited versions ($49.95/year).

Number 4: While Just Cloud has a plan that offers unlimited storage, the fine print will tell you that it’s not truly unlimited. Therefore, if you need unlimited storage space, Just Cloud may not be the right choice for you.

How much is it?

There are several plans available, including different time commitments and different sizes. Plans offered include: 2 year, 1 year, semi-annual, and monthly. The longer the plan, the cheaper the price. The following prices are for two year plans (add up to $2 or $3 a month for shorter terms):

75GB — $4.49/month
250GB — $4.95/month
Unlimited — $6.95/month

On top of that, as I mentioned previously, there is a list of additional features that you may or may not want to pay for ranging from $14.95/year for supercharged backups to $99.95/year for backup network drives.

Now that you know what Just Cloud is all about, I hope that you can decide for yourself whether or not it is the best cloud storage program for you. Please let us know in the comments if you have ever used Just Cloud or any other cloud storage and what you thought of it. Have a great day!

Pimsleur Approach Review

Hello, future bilingual viewers! Today we are going to talk about the popular language program, the Pimsleur Approach. Stay tuned for the advantages and disadvantages of this system. Hopefully, this overview will help you decide if Pimsleur is right for you.

What is the Pimsleur Approach?

Well, it is an audio-based language learning program that claims you can start learning a language in just 10 days. With 29 available languages, including French, Spanish, Italian, German, and Arabic, the Pimsleur Approach should have you striking up basic conversations in just over a week.

The courses took over forty years to develop and perfect. This approach does not require pen and paper, as the CDs are scientifically sequenced to stick with you after just one listen.

What is so great about it?

Number 1: It utilizes a method called “spaced repetition”. Spaced repetition is when you are told a foreign language phrase and then told to repeat it. Then, you have to remember it and repeat the words again at different time intervals.
The spaced repetition was created in 1932, so it’s nothing new. But it is an incredibly efficient way to form new memories.

Number 2: The Pimsleur Approach focuses on pronunciation. Through constant repetition and a breakdown of each word, your pronunciation will improve. This is great, as a word slightly mispronounced may mean something else entirely.

Number 3: Audio based technology means you can take it anywhere. Well, anywhere you don’t feel silly talking to yourself. As learning a new language and driving both take a great deal of concentration, I wouldn’t suggest playing lessons in the car.

Number 4: Lessons are short — only 30 minutes each. There is only so much repetition one can do before they tune out completely. The lessons each teach everyday language (not tourist phrases) in a short time span. These lessons are effective and just long enough to teach you while your full attention is being paid.

Why isn’t it great?

Number 1: There are complaints that the program is boring. Why? Well while effective, does spaced repetition sound thrilling to you? That’s because it’s not. Repetition is proven to work, but it doesn’t make for riveting audio.

Number 2: The ads are pretty obnoxious. The Pimsleur Approach advertisements are the ones that go on about “language professors hating them” and “learn a language in 10 days”. The website is a little more clear when it says start learning a language in 10 days.
Any program that tells you that you can learn something complex in a very short period of time is exaggerating.

Number 3: The Pimsleur Approach uses only speaking lessons, not writing lessons. Some languages don’t offer reading lessons either. Therefore, it is best for those who want to focus on learning how to speak another language and who are auditory learners. Other language programs with writing and reading lessons have an edge for those language learners who are visual.
Also, as in America, many conversations are made up of informal language and slang. The Pimsleur Approach teaches formal language only.

How much is it?

While the website will give you the “too good to be true” price of $9.95 for the first four CDs, the fine print will tell you that you are to receive a new course every 60 days. For each course you decide to keep, you will be billed four monthly payments of $64, or $256 total.

Each course has a 30-day trial subscription. If you choose to return a course, you will just have to pay for return shipping. A phone number is provided should you choose to cancel future courses at any time.

Now that you know what Pimsleur is about, I hope that you can decide for yourself whether or not it is the best language course for you. Please let us know in the comments if you have ever used the Pimsleur Approach or any other language program and what you thought of it. Have a great day!
